Gatwick Airport lounges compared

Gatwick gives you more genuine choice than anywhere else in Britain — nine bookable lounges split across two terminals, with four different brands competing inside the same buildings. The terminals have no airside link, so your airline picks the shortlist and you pick from it. Below: every lounge on price and hours, then the answer for each terminal, and separate verdicts for families and for working travellers. Checked against each operator’s own site on 30 September 2026.

Best lounge in each terminal

North and South have no airside connection, so the only comparison that changes your booking is the one inside your terminal. Reasoned from published prices, hours and age policies — not from visits, and never from a paid placement.

North Terminal

My Lounge

from £38pp · 04:00–20:00 daily

Opens at 04:00 and has a games room with video games, a foosball table and board games — the best-equipped room for children at either London airport, for £38. Plaza Express is £2 cheaper and has a kids’ zone too, but it shuts at 16:00, which rules it out for most afternoon and evening departures.

Also here: Plaza Express, No1 Lounge, Clubrooms, Plaza Premium Lounge

South Terminal

My Lounge

from £38pp · 04:00–20:00 daily

The only lounge in South Terminal that opens at 04:00 alongside the No1 — Club Aspire and Clubrooms do not open until 06:00, which rules them out for the first wave of flights. A games room and an outdoor terrace for £38, with children from 2. If your flight is later, Club Aspire at £34 is the cheaper room.

Also here: Club Aspire Lounge, No1 Lounge, Clubrooms

Best with young children

Two things decide a family booking: whether the lounge will take your children at all, and what a child actually costs. Child prices below are Lounge Pass’s published child rate, which is the only child pricing published consistently across these lounges.

Gatwick is the better London airport for families and it is not close. Four lounges here publish something specifically for children — games rooms at both My Lounges, a kids’ zone at the Plaza Premium in North and a kids’ zone with a playroom at Plaza Express — against none at Heathrow. My Lounge in North Terminal has the cheapest child rate at either airport at £21. Both Clubrooms are 12+ only and cannot be booked for a child at any price. More on age limits by brand in our UK family lounge guide.

Best for business travellers

Sorted by opening time, because for a 06:00 departure that is the only thing that matters. Work facilities list only what the operator’s own page names — where it says nothing, we say nothing rather than assume.

The one at Gatwick worth doing the maths on is Clubrooms: £44 in either terminal with Fast Track security included in the booking, against £38 for My Lounge without it. Once you price Fast Track separately the gap closes to a few pounds, and you get hosted table service for it. The trade-offs: no Gatwick lounge publishes a shower or a meeting room, and Clubrooms does not open until 05:00 in North and 06:00 in South. If you fly through often, our Priority Pass break-even calculator works out whether a membership beats paying each time.

Choosing at Gatwick

Four brands, two buildings

North Terminal has five lounges and South has five. The No1 group runs No1 Lounge, My Lounge and Clubrooms in both, Plaza Premium runs two more in North, and Club Aspire sits in South. That is more real competition inside one terminal than anywhere else in the UK, and it shows in the prices — £34 to £46 across the airport.

The early-flight shortlist is shorter than it looks

Four lounges open at 04:00: both My Lounges, both No1 Lounges and the two Plaza rooms in North. Club Aspire and Clubrooms in South do not open until 06:00. If you are on a 06:30 departure, half the airport’s lounges are not an option.

Plaza Express closes at 16:00

It is the cheapest room in North Terminal at £36 and it has a kids’ zone and a playroom, which makes it tempting for a family. It also shuts at four in the afternoon. For an evening departure it is not on the list at all.

Clubrooms includes Fast Track here

Both Gatwick Clubrooms include Fast Track security in the booking, which neither the Heathrow Clubrooms nor any other lounge at either airport does. At £44 against £38 for My Lounge, that is most of the difference accounted for before you sit down. It is 12+ only.

No showers at Gatwick

Not one lounge at either terminal publishes shower facilities. If a shower before or after a long-haul flight is the point of the booking, Heathrow’s Plaza Premium lounges are the ones that have them.

Memberships

Every bookable lounge at Gatwick except Plaza Express accepts Priority Pass. The British Airways Club & First lounge in South is for BA cabins and status only and cannot be bought.
